Very generally speaking, meditating is a way of getting really present in the moment. It is focusing inwards rather than outwards. It is tuning in to the Universe, Source, higher self, the cosmos or whatever concept works for you here.
It's not so much about getting answers or inspiration, although that is often a welcome side effect. It's more about getting beyond our conditioned thoughts, habits, patters and beliefs to 'who-we-really-are'.
